I went back and looked at their press release again and confirmed that they announced that the merger was to accelerate their West Coast expansion program. Its kind of pathetic talking about their "West Coast" expansion program, which may in fact not even include California if you are right. You would think they would let it go with their "North West" expansion program without trying to puff it up.

There is Home Depo and nobody in second place.

"This merger allows Lowe's to accelerate our West Coast expansion program and gives us an immediate presence in a number of key metropolitan markets in the West," Bob Tillman, Lowe's chairman and chief executive, said in a statement.
