Interesting post.

My take is that the Kuwaitis and the Saudis will not be lax in setting up attractive foreign participation deals.

And my guess is that they believe that advances in western technology will cheapen production costs enough to offset the cost of western participation. So they will preserve or increase their cash flow in the short term, while capturing market share in the long term.

Who'd have thought in 1974 that OPEC would be opening her blouse for us again in 25 years time?
