Ramsey's concerns are valid concerns

They are not valid. This is the greatest bull market in our lifetimes and the advice he is giving is bankrupt! Southeast Asia for example represents 6% of the world's economy by one measure...Russia has a $25 billion dollar economy small by some standards...and so on...get a grip on the facts.

Ramsey can believe whatever he wants. I suspect if he is waiting for a 4500 Dow he may not invest another penny in his lifetime.

The facts are our opinions may be right or wrong at times but the market is always right. The market is riding a wave based on three federal reserve rate cuts in 7 weeks. Higher valuations are justified. Semiconductor equipment makers are moving higher, not necessarily due to a definitive turn in the semiconductor market (debatable), but in anticipation of a better semiconductor market in the latter half of 1999. The market is discounting these prospects now. It is also interesting to note that based on history every time the federal reserve has cut rates the semiconductor industry has generally moved higher one year later.

The bears on this thread, of which there are a few hardcore, can tell each other how bad the economics of the world and the semiconductor industry are all day...In the meantime there are others of us who are counting our profits day in and day out.
