How do you know that? The stock is trading at around book value. Their valuation will rebound with the Asian economic rebound, and semiconductor equipment manufacturers are anticipating increased demand (see AMAT's announcement last week). AXYS got beaten down primarily for decreased revenue due to Asian crisis and general downturn in the semis. Both of those stories are turning around. The CEO is probably looking to buy the company for near book value and then sell it again to another investor group next year. This has happened to the divisions in AXYS many times over the past 7 years.
