The manual lists my Barco at 2000 horizontal lines. Call them at 404-432-2346 or 404-590-7900 The AmPro claims 1200 lines. Check out their website: amprocorp.com Your friend's right about current TV. Hopefully HDTV will be able to use the full capabilities of the projectors. VHS is about 225 lines (ugh!), laser disk is 425, DVD will be about 475-500. With line doubling, the picture quality approachs film. That's what I prefer to watch. I'm delighted that you're delighted with the PJTV product. It couldn't come at a better time for the Wiz: techweb.cmp.com
