A lot of reckless talk on this thread and the media about political assasination as a tool of US foreign policy. But what goes around comes around. Many believe that the assasination of JFK had something to do with the fact that the US was then trying to kill Fidel Castro. Once this game starts, no one knows where it will end.

And for a group that would like to see higher oil prices, pining for a US puppet regime in Iraq is most counterproductive. That would open the floodgates for large new supplies of crude on world markets.
