I don't know as I'd agree that following AMAT fundamentals is a mug's game, and I'm not sure there are many people who'd be surprised that it serves as a proxy for the sector. GE is a proxy for the entire country so I guess you can't go wrong if you do your due dilly on either the company or the country? Whatever...something like that.... mano
