Emile
I understand what you are saying, but that doesnt really touch the central issue. Contrary to your belief, I have no problem with you believing in Christianity. I have no problem with you believing in original sin. I have no problem with your concept that man needs to have a perfect rightousness. These are not my beliefs, but I defend your right to follow this path.(much like I was the first person on this thread to come to your defense when there was a petition to have yoou tossed off of SI)
I disagree with your assertion that because you feel and believe earnestly in this way, that no one else can be rightous, that no one else can feel legitimate in their own beliefs. That is a form of elitism, a form of prejudice, weather you want to admit it or not.
Many people in this world, feel and believe in their chosen religious philosophy just as honestly and earnestly as you. they have just as much ancillary evidence , emotional surety, and gut level knowledge as any christian does(and vica versa). there are even those that are just as sure that christians are wrong and are influenced by evil as there are christians who beieve the same of them.
None of these people have a unilateral claim on rightousness. Many of thesepeople are good, honest, earnest, and pious people. If your goal is to continue to drive these people apart instead of helping to bring them together, then you will have to eventually answer to your conscience as well as your god. I hope you aren't surprised.
