FWIW: just swapped my boxed celeron 266 @ 400 for a boxed 300a @ 450 in my BH6 board. As I suspected, it was a breeze. Took about 10 minutes total, including my recalling how to remove and swap the CPU. Booted up great the first time into NT, at the default 2.00 volt setting, using my same 256 megs of PC 66 memory. Seems pretty snappy, too--I will be curious to see how the observed performance differs in the weeks and months ahead.

Got the 300a from accessmicro.com, found off of shopper.com. Nice people, reasonable shipping, and only a 10% restock fee on CPUs within 15 days. (I figured that this way, if the CPU didn't perform to my expectations I could easily return it.) Couldn't justify holding off any longer once the shipped price hit $135. Received it this AM, it was a Malaysian version, dated 10/21 on the shrinkwrap. (Some think these Malays are marginally better for Oc purposes.)

Happy camper so far-would all upgrades were this easy. I don't anticipate making a memory/processor type upgrade now for another year or more.
