Re:this is Dale's problem too, of course. I actually think he is playing devil's advocate now, and really doesn't believe himself the drivel he is posting.
Frank, it is not drivel and I believe every word I say about SUNW. However, I would hesitate to short it at after this latest AOL/NSCP/SUNW development. Here's why.
You say: Sun's stock has zoomed because people are seeing that it has innumerable possibilities to grow its business substantially in different ways...When Sun's technology is in billions of boxes on your TV, computer, printer, and every other place that will be touched by the internet, it will still be a software and box maker. With a jillion dollar market cap.
While I disagree with you over the reality, I do agree that there is a perception that SUNW has substantial growth opportunities. This latest AOL/NSCP/SUNW deal only enhances that perception. It is of course total foolishness and SUNW is overvalued IMO, but nevertheless, it has momentum now and I don't think it is wise to add to my SUNW short position for at least a couple of weeks. I will however retain my current short position at 68, and I look forward to taking profits when it hits 58.
I will probably add to my ORCL Short position. Although my long positions are doing well and I would have to free up some cash.
