OT - What's in a name...?
Clark,

I take your point but..
Cordless is definitely taken to mean the home 'phone.
DECT and PHS are Personal Communication Systems (PCS). PCS is called PCN in the US (and isn't that advanced). Like you say, PCS/PCN is typified by limited handoff and low transmit powers. The the phone user this means that the phone won't work in a car moving at much more than walking pace and incredibly tiny phones, compared with current 'digital cellular' offerings (i.e GSM, CDMA).

Anyway - you have clarified the VLSI product offering for me - thanks.

Another question. How is DECT doing? The bottom dropped out of the Japanese PHS market last year, and hasn't really recovered.
