Mike,

There was a time period where the stock shot up and never looked back. If you were short at that time and stuck to the strategy you just laid out, you would have been massacred.

Nope. I would not have been massacred. Want to know why? Ok I will tell you. Because I am well diversified. Short positions make up less than 20% of my portfolio. And I only took out the Short positions within the past week as stocks have risen dramatically. Before that I was 100% long, and my longs are doing fabulous I might add. Now out of less than 20% of my portfolio that is short, SUNW is only one of 4 shorts (SUNW, AMAT, ORCL, CPQ). Also some of those short positions are PUTS, which have limited downside. So you see SUNW will never massacre me. But MSFT might massacre SUNW. <g>!

Also reread my post and you will see I mentioned I am very well diversified. I stated that just in case we have inexperienced lurkers that are considering shorting stocks.

I have seen shorts come and go, smart and lame.

Yes I have also come across a few of those Shorts myself, but then again there are also Longs that come and go. Some with the believe that it was a sure thing only to have the stock tank! Stocks can be risky either way. Long or Short.

I strongly suggest you reread your last post. It reads to me, childishly lame and stubborn. Please don't read into my last statement as an attack on you personally. I simply question your last post.

Well Mike, I am total baffled by this, but I do believe you were trying to help me and not attack me. So that I respect that. Thanks.

Dale
