Nevertheless, one could argue that forcing her to give birth to the child is also a continuation of the assault. Principle informs me the child is human and therefore taking its life is in error. However, because the child resulted of an assault, I could possibly stomach a claim against its life on this basis, provided such a compromise would eliminate the wholesale death our country now accepts.
