DugO,,

I think I have Bellsouth Deployment figured out..

First 90% of their network is served from a DLC. Without a DLC solution, they can only offer to 2 out of 10 to maybe 3 of 10 phone lines.

When the DLC solution gets here, the can increase the qualified lines to 8 out of 10 lines. Second feeding the ADSL from a DLC removes the load coils and bridge tap problems.

Currently I would expect they are looking real hard a Lucent's AnyMedia platform. Why? the AnyMedia platform embeds ADSL functions in the switch. Also, I believe they are holding their breath until G.lite surfaces for real.

I can say the Johnthan article on Jones Cable is right on. What's happening now is the cable companies are cherry picking the areas to service. When they get in a neighborhood they sell everything.

All I can say. h
