But why still own HLIT??? I don't see any reason for them to survive economic turmoil. They rely on cheap money and consumer spending to develop high speed internet access.

What if overseas spending never recovers? Like it or not, domestic spending may not be enough. It certainly looks like more and more competition is coming and the pie is smaller.

I'm now in Australia again and I'm have not seen any reason for @Home to have gone up so much. Is there nothing from this renewed enthusiasm for @Home that will bring buyers back to Harmonic Lightwaves?

In regards to market bubbles, your concerns seem justified. To me, I'm also worried about erratic spending by businesses due to Y2K conversion issues. For that matter, there may be many financial and distribution issues that will make the whole year a difficult one.

So, like you I'm worried. It seems that month by month more people will be raising cash due to these concerns. It has to have an effect. But again, why do you continue to have such unrelenting faith in Harmonic Lightwaves?

Regards, Mark

PS I assume you've written off Ramtron. Rambus seems to be the clear winner in high-speed DRAM. That leaves FRAM and again it seems to be a technology in doubt.
