BEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 14, 1997--Progress
Software Corporation, (NASDAQ: PRGS), the leading supplier of
enterprise application development tools and services to professional
IS organizations, today announced the promotion of David P. Vesty,
vice president of international operations to assume responsibility
for the company's sales organization worldwide. Vesty will report
directly to Joseph W. Alsop, president of Progress Software.
In his new position, Vesty will oversee all activities involved
with the sale of Progress Software products worldwide, including
presales, direct and indirect sales operations and consulting
services. The Progress Software product line includes WebSpeed (TM),
the first commercially available, open development and deployment
environment that lets organizations quickly and productively build
transaction processing applications on the Internet and corporate
intranets.
