Nick,
The SEC has their own agenda. I think they are concerned that too many retail investors believe they can pay the kids' tuition by just buying internet stocks. To date, they are fairly correct in that assumption, but when and if it falls apart, some investors are going to get hurt like noone should get hurt. Its easy for us to sit around and say "they should never have been in it", or "they should have known they could come back, they are overvalued,",etc. but thats not most...the group reading this thread is in the top 5%.

Personally speaking, I think it would catastrophic for the sector yet I dont think you would say it any time soon. You never know though.
