I think they said something more to the effect that they will use and exist with MS, if need be...and challenge MS when necessary. It was something like 'will partner with MS where they have to and compete against them when they must'. Sounds good to me. It's silly to view the netscape-sun deal as just the forming of an anti-MS coalition. The deal certainly solidifies AOL's competitive position, and that in turn demand that MS behave in a reasonable way in the current and future partnership. The deal is a great great move.
