I'm scarcely defensive, nor are those who have posted taking the same point of view. It is not our job, or SI's, or the SEC's, or Westergaard's, to play Rumor Vigilantes. This biz is full of rumor and hype: that's how it always was and always will be.

And the hysteria in some circles over a holiday joke has by now gone way past making a mountain out of a molehill. As several have pointed out earlier today, this unwillingness to forget the whole thing and move on could in itself be damaging to our interests.

And sorry to sound unkind, but people who are unintelligent or don't understand how markets work have no business investing in small cap stocks unless they're doing so on the advice of a competent professional.

"Personal responsibility"? Sure I believe in it: I believe every investor is responsible for doing his own DD. The information's out there; find it.
