Can anyone figure out who won this CHINA thing, perplexing..

Both news releases say that they one the same contract, how is it possible...

NEW YORK -- Ascend Communications Inc.
(ASND) received a contract to provide
asynchronous transfer mode equipment to
build the China Post multiservices network.

In a press release Wednesday, Ascend said
the network will serve as the switching
backbone for China's postal service,
covering 31 provinces and 200 cities.

The network will provide voice, video and
data services.

Ascend makes, sells and services wide area
networking systems.

Newbridge Networks Gets
China Post Network Pact

KANATA, Ont. -- Newbridge Networks Corp.
(NN) said China Post, the state Postal
Bureau of China, has selected the
Siemens/Newbridge multi-service,
multi-access platform to build the core
national backbone asynchronous transfer
mode (ATM) network.

In a press release, the value of this contract
wasn't disclosed. Newbridge said the new
broadband network will support the delivery
of advanced voice, data and Internet
Protocol (IP) services over a single, unifying
ATM platform to customers in 31 provinces
across China.

Newbridge noted that this is the second
national network it has been awarded in the
China, the first being the digital data
network (DDN), based on time division
multiplexing (TDM) technology.

Newbridge Networks provides networking
solutions.
