Dear Lloyd,

First of all, if you're "playing" the Israeli market, you should BOOKMARK the following sites:

www.globes.co.il - "Globes" is Israel's equivalent of the Wall Street Journal, and the only daily business publication you'll need for reference. Stay on top of the news as often as you can - it'll tell you all you need to know to make educated decisions. To find the indices, go to "Stock Market News" and from there to the window labeled "Today's Quotations."

www.jpost.com - i.e. "The Jerusalem Post" - There's a good business section, and the site also covers Israeli stocks
traded on Wall St.

www.bankhapoalim.co.il - See their Capital Markets Report

www.tase.co.il - Site for the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Also worth follwing for updated info.

www.link.co.il - i.e. "Link Magazine" - Great resource for general and specific info on Israeli companies. Use the whole site for reference, but make a point of looking at the "Link 100" list.

On to other matters.... You are absolutely right about the real estate market. It used to be the most reliable in Israel, but has taken a real beating over the last year. If you're interested in more info, see the real estate section in the Jerusalem Post web site. There are loads of articles you can refer to for a better understanding of what's going on.

Your methods - and instincts - re Israeli stocks are good (including DSSI - I know them well). Most of these IPO's are overvaluated, which is why they tend to drop shortly after being issued. Once stabilized, they can behave like any other stock on the market (assuming the company is strong enough to sustain this growth). Happily, most do.

Finally, you were right. I was silly not to give you the ticker symbols, and I apologize. At any rate, keep an eye on the following:
Blue Square (BSI on NYSE); Cimatron (CIMTF on NASDAQ); ESC Medical Systems (ESCMF on NASDAQ); Tecnomatix (TCNOF on NASDAQ),VocalTec (VOCLF on NASDAQ) and ZAG (ZAGIF on NASDAQ).

I have excellent sources for insider info about new IPOs coming out of Israel, and would be happy to keep you advised of anything worth looking at.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Timna

p.s. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner (crazy week).
