Lately I have been using Viewsonic
OptiUPS's for much less money and they have better software (no experience
with warranty or insurance claims as I have never had a failure with theirs).

I can't recall specifically why I had the impression APC UPS were problematic but if you have had to activate warrenty and return merchandise procedures, albeit successfully, there might be some small truth to my recollection..... I could just visit the auxillary I think ZeusPaul has a UPS section.

Your right about the Viewsonic
OptiUPS page. I will keep trying there. Less money for adequate protection is what I had hoped to emerge. May I ask, since their site is NA, does the OPiUPS provide for unattended shutdowns?

PS Just as I was checking auxillary and discovering that none other than Spots had once again made an unforgetable impression on me, Spots himself came forward to give further testimony...... so the statements I made above about APC have been hereby amended...
