I have been having alot of fun watching all of the eternal optimists on this thread talking about the great merits of AMTX. (more fun I might add than my ownership in AMTX has given me). While the technology may be great or may not be great, there is one thing that has always left a greater impression on me when owning stocks; SUPPLY AND DEMAND. It doesn't matter if it is the best stock in the world or the worst. Don't try swimming too hard against the current. My rule of thumb is that if I purchase a stock and it moves down more than 10-12% from my purchase price, I get out, regardless of why it is down. It is difficult to make up for a small loss. It is very, very difficult to make up for a big loss. If you are down 10 percent, you have to buy something else that will go up 20% just to be at break-even. This is manageable. if you are down 20 %, your next trade has to be up 40% just to be at break-even. Bye Bye AMTX. Hope you guys do better than I did.
