I too have been looking at buying a new PC. Here in Kansas City CompUSA is offering a complete Packard Bell package (yuk!) for under
$500. A friend of mine who is quite up on when the best times of the year to buy a PC, recommends waiting till February when the "old" models are steeply discounted. He was right about that last year. Based upon what I am reading on this thread and seeing in the newspaper adds during the last 2 weeks, I may wait until after the first of the year to buy one. You can also get no interest for either 6 month or 1 year at most of the national chains.

On another note, you mentioned you could buy BEARX through Quick and Reilly. I have their mutual fund list from last February and BEARX was not listed. Did BEARX get added recently? Also, do you have to adhere to the funds minimum initial investment of $2000? Thanks.
