Thomas;
I guess the point I was trying to make with Elizabeth was simply this:
The fact that a mining company (whether they were a junior or major doesn't matter) has explored and walked away from a property doesn't mean squat.
If orebodies were that easy to find, every mining company would have these areas cornered and that would take the guessing and pondering out of the hunt for more.
As a prospector, I've never let the fact that a company has been there before bother me. In fact, if SEVERAL companies have been there before me, it re-inforces the reason for me to be looking there, since a lot of other people liked the rocks, alteration, mineralization , etc., etc.
You'd be surprised, if you did the research behind new mines just how much exploration work has been filed in Public Assessment Files by previous explorationists. Most NEW MINES are really OLD DISCOVERIES that have been re-worked over long periods of time until they become better and economical.
In other words, it doesn't matter squat to me that Noranda walked from Hammerdown. Sure doesn't mean there is not going to be a mine there some day. Just means it didn't fit Noranda's criteria at the time.
Noranda said the same thing about the Eagle River Gold Mine in the Mishibishu Camp (Ontario) but it's been the Crown Jewel for River Gold Mines for the last several years.
