Christine, beloved, I hope your father is recovering, and I hope the holiday brings you joy. I am afraid your little retreat has become a den of iniquity without your supreme guidance. We are but merry rowers of leaking little boats.....gleefully we row our predictable elliptical orbits in a pond covered with glistening waxy leafed lily pads. Ocaisonally the pads seem to defy the laws of surface tension, sinking ever so much lower as one frog after another piles on in a mesmerizing ritual that ultimately lands the ineffectual bloated frogs face first in the drink.......plonk! Limbs akimbo, struggling to adjust to the change in temperature. Such is life in the pond. Our shiny little bellies full of mosquitos, we ultimately find our own individual lily pads on which to perch and enjoy the sun's radiant embrace. ribbit.....ribbit.
