Robert, I as a current MGR shareholder would also like to join with your thoughts for MGR as a company in Mongolia:
<<< Let's hope that things in Mongolia will turn around for MGR and that it will eventually be possible to take a portion of future profits and use that in socially responsible ways. >>>
When MGR attains its goal of a strong and stable and profitable company thru its activities in Mongolia, then I would like it if when those shareholders annual meeting happen, that one of the proposals to be voted on by the shareholders, is that which you mentioned: <<< ...to take a portion of future profits and use that in socially responsible ways. >>>
As Dave mentioned, a very little to us, like the cost of a cup of coffee, in Mongolia could feed a homeless person a good meal.
If we as shareholders obtain a reward for our investment in Mongolia, then seems correct for the people of that country to get something in return. Those in government and industry there, and the majority of its people will benefit, as usual. But those few at the bottom, those living outside society in the steam pipes, either have to beg or steal or be lucky to have access to caring people.
If someone that has helped in this manner, could relay an address or method for individuals to send a package or money to a place in Mongolia that helps those homeless, then anyone can easily do so.
I remind myself that homeless not only means not having a shelter, but also to some children, not having a father or mother.
Thanks
