Defensive? Why should I be defensive? I've never gotten attacked here, I just don't have the proper appreciation of Limbotic humor, I've been told.:-) (I think).
Michael, your stance on abortion may indeed be moderate, but buying into the PBA terminology puts you in some funny company, as you may or may not have noticed. I am of course repetitious, but the PBA crowd is plenty repetitious in its own fashion, and I've never seen any particular facts from them, only the most inflammatory language they can come up with. Abortion is a big issue among the moral reformation faction of the Republican party, perhaps the biggest. Politically, I think it's dubious, but since I don't agree with that faction in general, it's fine by me if they take an absolutist stand on it.
I've never stated a personal position on abortion, beside advocating education and birth control as a means of reducing the demand. That hasn't prevented me being labeled a PBA advocate here, just as I've been labeled a White House agent because I don't think impeachment is a good idea. Communications is indeed a chore in this forum, where what you say means what people who disagree with you want it to mean. It's all part of the "substantive debate" we're continually engaged in here. In my daily life, I don't have to deal with "ad hominem ad nauseum" over every opinion I might choose to express.
