Emile,
I agree that it seems clear that God wanted to put an end to the old testament religion that Israel was clinging to. The nation of Israel had served it's purpose by bringing Christ to the world and no longer had a purpose in God's plan at that time. Some of what you say about the efforts to thwart the christian church by the jews makes sense. It says the disciples locked themselves in for fear of the Jews. They must have been being persecuted. There is a thread of the threat from the jews throughout the gospels although it is never fully explained and is played down, so to speak. You are saying the Talmud came after Jesus?
I know we disagree on this but Israel is playing a role in the end times prophecies. That does not mean they are the "chosen". They are just a part of the scheme of the end times and I wait to see their role more clearly defined by events. Interesting that christians are being persecuted and driven from Israel right now. But I think your feelings for the palestinians are misplaced. In the war for survival the Jews have always been on the defensive. The Arab world has sworn to destroy them. The word of the Arab nations to let them coexist means nothing as their word given to an "infidel" is not binding. In any war for survival the sympathies of most will be with the down trodden underdog, in this case the Jews. The holocaust has generated sympathy for the Jews that will not go away. The holocaust is too well documented to be denied. I have looked into that extensively. In the last 2,000 years it is overwhelmingly the jews more than any other race who have been persecuted and killed for their beliefs. You always pull a quote from my post to respond to. I predict you will use this statement I just made. <gg>

cya,

Bob
