Maybe we'll see more of this. But it doesn't necessarily mean that it will be good for shareholders of the merged companies. (I sometimes still question for whom many of these non-USA companies are run - the stockholders, the insiders (mgmt) or for the government (whose goal is: keep people employed). These Euro. mergers will not necessarily be better for the employees who remain after the mergers.
My preference is for an independent HOE. I say there's enough access to capital, enough profitable opportunities that HOE doesn't need to merge. JMO, and of course, totally irrelevant to what's going to happen. Anyway... Happy Thanksgiving.
