Greg, Just because I guessed correctly on the P+G deal doesn't really mean I know a damn thing about predicting the stock price- anyway, I guess I have as much right to make a guess as anyone else. Here's what I think - the 3rd quarter earnings will come in at 6 or 7 cents a share-I think we will see a 4th quarter eps of 6-8 cents as well so I think QDEL will make a minimum of 14 cents and a max of about 17 cents-so I think these numbers, if met, are good enough to push QDE well past 6 up to as high as 8 at year's end (when reported in late April,1997) The P+G deal may temporarily increase costs since I suspect QDEL is simply having P+G salesmen "push" the test by distributing "free sample" - I may be wrong but, even if QDEL is letting P+G salesman give away free samples (a guess on my part) I think it is a great move-P+G will have a deathgrip on this market w/ Helidac-did you see the comments about its preference by HMO's as the preferred drug?? 54 million potential patients in PCS group alone??? This is the best news QDEL has received in a loooong time - it dovetails perfectly w/ the CLIA waiver from CDC. I can barely control my enthusiasm. One year from now (+2 weeks when 3rd quarter fy 98 earnings are released) I'll bet it hits 12 or better-my guess for fy 98 = 30 cents per share, based in large part on H. Pylori!! BOB
