To watch in '99:

1> Estimate 500 billion to 1 trillion dollars will be converted from US$ to EURO$ on the global currency reserves by 2000. And we have the largest debt on earth, what the impact will be on the dollar? Could we have another currency crisis?
2> Many say that Japanese bank is near zombie (as stated on ABC Nightline on 11/20), then what will happen if many Japanese depositors want to withdraw money from the banks in fear of Y2K glitch in December? CNN reported even our Fed has printed extra dollar that will allow average family to withdraw $500 more cash. Do Japanese banks have enough cash for the depositors to withdraw? Will they sell our treasury to fund their own need?
