I am not paid by the companies which I analyze. I'm not paid by anyone for doing this. I enjoy doing it, and I also think that somewhere in here there lurks a "business" of some kind. There is clearly a need for the service that I providing....
Lets be realistic. I do own stock in these companies, as well as others about which I have not yet written, but I make this very clear in the "Introductory Letter" that I send to everyone who is added to my e-mail list, and also in each of the Analyses themselves. I have also analyzed, in less depth, companies whose stock I did not own and I have stated that fact also.
I think that, if The Napeague Letter is to be successful over the long term, I must maintain both independence and integrity, in that I in no way take advantage of my readers. For this reason, I am carefully picking the stocks about which I publish analyses, and I plan to continue to cover each of them for some time into the future.
