Hi marcos,

If the domestic and/or international banking systems survive the next couple of years, intact, then yes, buying gold solely for Y2k reasons, in hindsight, will turn out to have been unnecessary. Since I do not know for a fact that the rollover will transpire uneventfully (though not a few others claim they do), I feel it is quite rational to hedge one's bets a bit and "store a little value" in one of the premiere, time-tested stores of value.

I agree about the beer -- liquid gold!
