Relax. The Naz halted INTC trading BEFORE eps release, not afterwards. Apparently, a bunch of nervous Nellies got psyched out and ran for the exit any price (or perhaps a vicious rumor circulating as someone on this thread was suggesting). The halt was due to what they call a "Order Influx".

I am not sure if everyone knows that, on the Instinet, the orders (buy and sell) have to be matched, unlike the real life situation on the Naz where the MMs are always there eating up the spread.
