Intel's new MMX chip does less for PCs than some expected as it is
intended to improve the performance of basic, unmodified PCs that do not run graphics cards. "MMX will not give a PC a graphics performance comparable to that of a Silicon Graphics work station, or even to that of the Nintendo 64...which uses Silicon Graphics chips."
