Michael,

Thanks for the info. Andy also talked about Asia Pacific on CNN. After having read all the news, I am firmly of the opinion that anyone who regards these results and especially the forward looking comments as anything less than spectacular is simply ignorant or a short running for their life.

These are just a few of the key items that I think will keep Intel and INTC heading toward the next level.

1) Next quarter will, at the very least, be the second best quarter in their history and much higher than current estimates. Current estimates will have to be raised. And this is suppose to be a seasonally slow time.

2) Margins will be solid in 1997. There goes the deteriotating margin theory that we have already been hearing for 1997. Remember that the pundits were calling for decreasing margins at the start of 1996 when the margins where in the 50's.

3) Global growth is strong. Apparently, one sector (US retail) may have been slightly off in Q4. However, I read just last night that the entire US consumer market is less than 10% of the worldwide market. In addition, my guess is that more than half of this 10% doesn't go through retail channel but rather through the direct channel (i.e. GATE, DELL, Micron) which just about everyone concedes is booming. Therefore, the US retail channel probably represents less than 5% of the worlwide market. It is really ignorant to think that you can judge the health of entire computer industry by how well PC's are selling at Circuit City or Best Buy. Future accelerated growth will come from non-US geographies. Corporations worldwide will continue to fuel strong growth and consumers will continue to purchase new computers and upgrade existing ones.

4) A whole new slate of products that will completely revamp their product line by year's end.

5) INTC is still having a hard time meeting demand. Fortunaley they have the resources to expand as necessary.

6) Andy G. and co.

Good luck to all,

FF
