From what I'm told, Deputy Secretary of Defense, Dr. John Hamre, has been quite active and vocal about the urgency to quash the millennium bug. Every week he's attending some Y2K task force or another and there are signs all over Pentagon bulletin boards about Y2K. So, what does that tell you? It says it takes more that just acknowledgment and conviction to "cure" Y2K. It takes time. And just as it takes time for those dealing directly with Y2K to understand the magnitude of what lies ahead, it takes time for those watching those dealing directly with Y2K to understand, and so on.

There's Y2K tinder all over the place. It's only a matter of time before the match is lit.
