Dwight the problem I have with your arguments regarding msft is I think they are too simplistic. To be brief, I think msft is the greatest of companies and won in the enterprise software space fair and square against Oracle, etc. But their OEM group, which seems to be largely chartered with the proliferation of Internet Explorer, violated antitrust laws in forcing vendors to drop navigator in favor of explorer. I firmly believe that had it not been for these violations navigoator would still be on top now... I dont know, personally I prefer navigator. Also when I was at Dell there were moans and groans when they took navigator away, not just from the users (like me) but from the storefront development teams which up until then were developing the Dell storefront primarily for Netscape users. I believe that Mikey would not have tossed all that preliminary storefront development had it not been for some mighty scary talk from msft. This irrespective of mikey's testimony to the DOJ. (admittedly he may have felt msft would win in the mkt eventually so why not cut the losses now, nonetheless there was a pretty sudden change in direction at Dell not to think something was going on with the msft relationship - just my opinion).

I guess I would say that I equally dislike Gates/msft for these practices vs. Ellison for blaming msft for his own troubles. Certainly I dont think you could say I "hate" msft, however I dont think their practices are completely above board either. BTW I believe rudedog also thinks highly of msft but wonders about the practices of the OEM team, correct?
