1. The only people who has suffered quasi colonization by the US are the North American Indians for whom I really feel very sorry

2. Other than that the US has not colonized anyone. The Phillipines had been taken by the Spanish but even after the US got involved I don't think that someone say from Cyprus or Kenya wold recognize that as the same kind of colonization that Eoka or Mao Mao fought the British to remove or that the Vietnamese fought the French to remove.

3. As far as locking people up because they 'looked wrong' may I refer you to any reasonable history of the Fall of Singapore. An examination of that help to put things into perspective especially when you are fighting for your existence. 1941 is just not comparable to the thankfully peaceful times of today.

4. I notice that many unpleasant references to the late Shah of Iran and also references to the unfortunate shooting down of an Iranian airliner ( which it should be remembered was flying civilian passengers in the middle of a war zone) fail to make any reference to the habit of the subsequent rulers of Iran of sending children into battle and to clear minefields. These children and their families were no doubt comforted and encouraged by the fact that the so called religious leaders in that country had given these children their permission to enter 'heaven' and the children actually wore a bandana tied around their little heads proudly proclaiming it as they entered minefields and battle.

5. The US is in my opinion a force of good in this world in fact today the greatest force for good as before it England was the greatest force for good. That doesn't mean everything it does is 'good' but it does mean that it means to do as good as it can. I believe that and clearly so do millions of others in the US and around the World. You only have to travel outside the US to realize just how good it is. IMHO it should be compulsory for all young Americans who were born and brought up in tthe US to have to go and spend some time in 'other' places in the World so that they can get a real perspective on just how good things are in the US.

Most people who came to the US came poor. Only 150-200 years ago there was not very much in the US. Other civilizations had had their time and have now fallen by the wayside. The poor that came to this country built the country with their bare hands and created this fantastic country to which ever increasing numbers from all over the World pray, yes they pray to come here, they get down on their knees and pray every day to come.

And still they come and if you want to know why just..... ask them. Even people who refer to the US as the great satan even they like to come and they are made welcome..... all of them. Tell me one other country in History that has ever come close to giving succor to so many and that has behaved in such a generous manner.

Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.....they came to the US and they did.

Regards,

L
