[Shadows on the cave. . .]

<<<"This entire condition consists precisely in the fact that the old is dying and the new cannot be born; in this interregnum a great variety of unstable and even morbid conditions appear".

Antonio Gramsci...Prison Notebooks>>>

Which, oddly enough, reminds me of the Basuto proverb Robert Ruark quotes at the outset of his book, "Something of Value."

"If a man does away with his traditional way of living and throws away his good customs, he had better first make certain that he has something of value to replace them."

Because I believe the internet, and Amati's ability to facilitate its acceptance, has the potential to bring the world closer together ---the "something of value" of which the Basuto speaks---I'm willing to put up with the chaos in the interregnum.

Yes, my choice is based on Amati's being a financial success, but the fact there's an added intrinsic "good" is a bonus I rather like. Do I hear you say every good can be used for bad? I agree. It's an inevitable part of the human condition and leads to a discussion of moral choices ---both covert and overt.

I'm not sure I'm up for this.

Though it does get the mind off today's drop.

Pat
