Emile, don't you dare calling me a "former Jew", unlike you, I have paid the full price of admittance to be "chosen", I am as much of a Jew today as I was more then 50 years ago practicing a daily routine of escaping from the real antichrists of this century. I do not have to defend the Talmud, but maybe you should start and worry about the hundreds of bonfires Christians had to use to eradicate those books, from Emperor Justinian in 553 through Pope Gregory IX in 1240 (upon Donin instigation), through Hitler in the first part of this century. Somehow, the Almighty wanted these books to survive. No other then the Pope Innocent III declared in 1199 that these books "contained lessons too profound for the layman to grasp" when countering the Cathari and Albigenses Christian sects that sought the eradication of the Talmud.
