Hi CB,
Yes she did and I thank her for her response. Of course, I didn't make myself clear because of the disconnect that exists between my thoughts and my keyboard.
It wasn't so much Xmas I had in mind when I thought about the shopper's disease. It becomes a mission in itself to obtain this new item, like a rush obtained from a drug, that wears off immediately as it is discarded to become stuff... and a new mission is created.
Like skiers that need new skis, or golfers that need new clubs, when their present equipment, in most cases, is so much better than the participant himself.. Jean Claude Killy would have loved to have my 5 year old skis that are considered out dated now by people that couldn't hold a candle to him in their new state of the art stuff.
In other words, they, the skiers in this case, IMO, have lost their way, (OT, no religion meant, but then again,.. maybe shopping is a religion, a topic for another time and another place..) IMO, the skiing experience becomes the shopping experience.. My disconnect is probably creeping in..
I know I didn't say anything new here but thats the way I feel..
Anyway I was pleased to have two responses that were pleasant. Usually when I stray off on another thread, other than the Futures or Stocks ones with simple "long or short" comments, NPI, I get hammered.. I probably bring it on myself because I have more passion for certain issues than I do for making money.. and that passion manifests itself in the post and is quickly smelled by my opponent.
Thank you........ the Coug and BTW ,I learned or was reacquainted with those P words, I can't remember which.. They seemed familar but I had to go to the dictionary. |
