Shalom, I did study the Tenach as well, at one time I had to memorize about 400 chapters thereof. My interest in the Tenach is 10 times greater than in the Talmud (which consists actually of the Mishna and the Gemara), and it is more literal than theological. I tried to read the New Testament as well, but I had access only to a Hebrew version, and frankly, the quality of the Hebrew was so poor, I could not complete a single chapter in any of the books I sampled. I figured, if the apostles could not even covey an idea in a good literary fashion, they have no message of interest to me. I am, however, toying with the idea of finally completing the trilogy with my own "Last Testament".
