There have actually been 84 launched out of an initial order of 125. These are new failures, and the company denies any problems except for the first 7, and a communications problem with one other. Now, major anomalies have been reported in attitude and orbit control systems of 48 and 79, with 69 tumbling out of control(48 & 69 in same plane). Anomalies have also been reported on 27 and 32, both in plane 3. The just launched spares would cover the problems, but another launch would be needed to fill the holes from 27 & 32 if they fail completely. The only significance of this is that Iridium claimed they expected 9 failures out of the constellation. There are now likely 12. It is also not comforting that they do not own up to any difficulties. You can check the SeeSat page as well to verify some of these new failures. Motorola foots the bill though for the replenishment of the syetem.
