The Canadian/UK and USArmy are going to fight civilians, silly! Getcher head outta dah sand!!! However, while the USArmy is busy preparing big whigs of 120 US cities for Y2K upheaval (and has been since Oct 97) , they have not been as "informative" as their UK and Canuck counterparts. Canuck's even have a name fer their military op: ABACUS.
The other "military action" I admire of our northern neighbors planning is their frigate redeployment plans acc'd to gov't press releases. Said frigates are to provide not only emergency power generation via their onboard power generating facilities for hospitals and emergency communications venues, but also for "soup kitchens" I believe they called it in their PR.
So, reading between the lines,
the Canadian MILITARY Brass has analyzed the upcoming chaos and categorized at least 3 things as guarandamnteeya outcomes:
1) diverting of civilian accessible fuel to military use first and foremost
2) civilian crowd control, i.e., limiting civilian movement, both day and night
3) diversting of civilian food resources to those who can cook in quantity and Make Peeling of Potatoes a barked order from a Sargent.
Ever asked yourself what good your PAPER money will be if you can't purchase fuel, freedom of movement, or food with it because you are too low on the priority totem pole? What does the Canadian Military know that the rest of us don't?
Wouldn't be the first time our global village neighbors see things more clearly than the cushy spoiled Americans...
Is it possible that the Canucks nor the Brits don't have In GreenSpan we trust on their valuable currency or branded onto their foreheads like we do down here below the 49th parallel????
