3COM is in an excellent position to become a leader in DSL because they already have a lion's share of the market in modems and network cards -- two technologies that are employed together in DSL. But there is and will be a lot of competition. Still, DSL is not expected to be widely deployed until at least 2001, so I don't think it will impact their revenues much in the short term.

On a technical basis, COMS looks like a good buy. It has lagged the market ever since the US Robotics merger and is finally waking up. Looks like it really wants to find support at 40. If the Nasdaq keeps moving to higher ground, COMS looks poised to make some serious progress here.
