Oh puissant penni, strong and wise, warm and charming lovely lady of the boards,
my Thanksgiving was so-so, thanks, but I had a really nice time yesterday, I took the boys to Monticello, just the three of us. They are a hoot, and we had a great time. On the way back, I was looking for a Morrison's, which I like, I have a Morrison's brochure that lists their sites all over the country, but it is out of date. Someone recommended an Old Country Buffet, an all-you-can-eat place, it was only o.k., but the boys had fun making reproductions of the Great Wall of China using yellow jello blocks. (They did eat the jello.) Afterwards, they were too full for dessert, and I was trying to tempt them with the thought of hot fudge cake topped with vanilla ice cream.
Benjamin started telling me that the only way he could eat more was by emulating the ancient Romans - - I put up my hands and demanded that he stop right there! He said, "I was just going to say, and call up Ralph on the ceramic telephone." "No!," I said, "No more!" He smiled at me, "or maybe I could give a technicolor yawn?" "No, no!" Such a wicked smile on a thirteen-year-old. Such clever children!
That was a day I did enjoy.
