Hubert my sweet, my dear little wrinkled reptilian creature, it is so kind of you to offer your good wishes for my father. It is a sad story, however. I do not think he will recover, and in fact he has been hospitalized several times recently and now has pneumonia. The most sad thing about it is that his relatives who never smoked all lived lucid and active into their nineties, and my father is perishing at seventy-seven as the result of lung damage caused by cigarettes, even though he quit about twelve years ago and had no symptoms until several years thereafter.

Everyone's boats leak, Hubert. Isn't life sad? The trick must be to find a nice shallow place in the pond and enjoy the beauty of the water lilies without totally sinking, and to have plenty of pagan, ribitting frog sex before the elliptical orbit stops abruptly and plunges one headlong into the tree sap at water's edge, to be frozen in amber millions of years hence, a way of being immortal, embedded and truly glistening waxy.
