To all,Great thread. New to Windows and have a couple questions I haven't found answers too yet. Only read about a 1000 posts.

Have a local whiz kid putting together a 450 PII on a BH6 board with an UW scsi drive. He is not back from the Comdex yet, and I am trying to put together an off the shelf back up. Found a couple inexpensive 300 mhz systems at Egghead. One is PII 300 and the other is AMD K6 300 system. Both have 4 PCI's and an AGP graphics card running W 98.

1. What is the difference's between the PII and K6? In laymen's term. The K6 comes with a set of speakers and an extra software bundle. Would I be better off picking up my own speakers. Is it just a matter of preferences or would I be giving up L2 cache or something?

2. For multi monitors with the existing AGP card, is it as simple as adding a second PCI, do I have to add 2 PCI for use with two monitors and by pass the AGP ( do both cards need to be the same)?

3. Egghead has some Viewsonic .25 21' monitors coming in this Friday for $599. Is this a good price? Standard price? I live in Hawaii and am always nervous about shipping from the mainland. These are the monitors I have been wishing for, but if it is a standard price, I might go ahead and order locally and pay the OUTRAGOUS local tax.

TIA
Doug
